Video: Promises Made Promises Kept - President Obama Announces End of War in Iraq

President Obama announced today "America's war in Iraq will be over" and "our troops will definitely be home for the holiday"s as he "promised as a candidate for president".  Additionally, he stated that "the last American soldier will cross the border of Iraq with their heads held high and proud of their success...".  The President also announced a severe cutback in troops in Afghanistan-cutting them by half by the end of the year with continuing troop withdrawals.

President Obama promised an end to the war in Iraq by the end of 2011 and today he has kept that promise.  This will only add to the President's recent National Security successes but don't expect anything but criticism from Republicans.
