The GOP is Just a Bunch of Angry Losers Who Should Never Again Be Put in Power

I haven't written in a long time due to personal reasons but I have been watching the GOP circus clowns as much as I can stomach.  These people running for president as Republicans have finally shown America what they have always been about.  Even the GOP audiences join in to define what the Republican party is now comprised of.  The republican party, the tea party, what ever you want to call it is nothing but a bunch of angry white voters who have never been good losers. It's in their nature. Yes, the fact President Obama is black has only added fuel to their fire but they would never accept any Democratic victory.  Does anyone truly believe George W. Bush would have bowed out graciously like Al Gore did in 2000?  My God it would have probably started another civil war.  The clowns at these GOP debates have all tried to outdo each other in cruelty and bigotry.  From taking away health care reform to building the biggest, deadliest fences to protect us from all those terrible "illegal aliens" and letting people die because they have no health insurance, all these people want is an America that never existed for the vast majority of us. They have already succeeded in breaking down the middle class that built this country and pinned the blame on "others".  This country thrived because of "The New Deal" for almost 4 decades.  Should we be holding on to some pipe dream of suddenly becoming part of that 1% or should we would be investing in our infrastructure, our schools, and the earth our children and grandchildren will someday inherit. Those clowns on stage at the Republican debates offer no solutions.  They all want exactly what we voted against in 2008: a return to the same economic policies which failed miserably for 99% of us and the deregulation of the  markets which led to a financial meltdown almost as big as the great depression.  President Obama has been extremely effective when he doesn't have to deal with congress, such as in foreign affairs.   Imagine what he could do without Republicans and Conservative Democrats fighting him tooth and nail at every step.  Just imagine.

Frank Luntz Tells Republicans Occupy Wall Street "Scares Him"

Frank Luntz, the infamous Republican pollster and master of Orwellian speak, told a group of conservatives at a Republican Governors Association conference held in Florida, why the Occupy Wall Street movement has him scared.  Chris Moody from Yahoo was at the event and here are some snippets of Luntz's advice to fellow Republicans:
– Don’t Mention Capitalism: Luntz said that his polling research found that “The public…still prefers capitalism to socialism, but they think capitalism is immoral. And if we’re seen as defenders of quote, Wall Street, end quote, we’ve got a problem.”
– Empathize With The 99 Percent Protesters: Luntz instructed attendees to tell protesters that they “get it”: “First off, here are three words for you all: ‘I get it.’ … ‘I get that you’re. I get that you’ve seen inequality. I get that you want to fix the system.”
– Don’t Say Bonus: Luntz told Republicans to re-frame the concept of the bonus payment — which bailed-out Wall Street doles out to its employees during holidays — as “pay for performance” instead.
– Don’t Mention The Middle Class Because Americans Don’t Trust Republicans To Defend It: “They cannot win if the fight is on hardworking taxpayers,” Luntz instructed the audience. “We can say we defend the ‘middle class’ and the public will say, I’m not sure about that. But defending ‘hardworking taxpayers’ and Republicans have the advantage.”
– Don’t Talk About Taxing The Rich: Luntz reminded Republicans that Americans actually do want to tax the rich, so he reccommended they instead say that the government “takes from the rich.

Wake Up America Before Republicans turn the U.S into Another 3rd World Country!

According to Republican leaders, the game plan for the 2012 presidential election will be "Obama has made the economy worse.  Americans may have extremely short memories but have they really forgotten the 22 million jobs lost under the Bush administration, the unnecessary and unfunded war he lied us into-which we're still paying for in lives and dollars.  Or the huge Bush tax cuts which are sending this country into bankruptcy-with the exception of those lucky 1% who don't work for a living. Does this country realize all the deregulation by Bush/Cheney and the Republicans has caused bridges to collapse and mines to collapse killing 29, airlines forced to ground many of their aircraft because of neglect by the the Bush "regulators".  Do people think all the outbreaks of food poisoning are just a coincidence?  And how can anyone forget about Cheney's "secret" closed door energy policy?  The policies that eventually led to 11 deaths and the greatest oil disaster in history.  Americans who believe Republican policies are the answer to America's financial and infrastructure problems may want to move to Mexico for awhile because that's exactly where this country is headed if we continue to fall for the same old Republican song and dance of cutting taxes for the wealthy and deregulation so nothing can get in their way.  After all they fly in private jets, drive the safest most expensive cars, what do they care how much gas cost and of course they buy the best food prepared by workers who wouldn't dare serve them tainted food and risk ruining their reputation.  They are insulated from the real world.  Jeez, how many times do these Republicans, (who now  masquerade as tea partiers since Bush/Cheney turned Republican into a dirty word), have to fail before Americans tell them where to take their phony failed policies, meant only to make them and their rich cronies even richer while turning this country into the kind of 3rd world country where the GOP could treat us like they do the workers in places like Mexico, China and Haiti.  God help us if they ever get in control again.  Think before you vote and if you care about the fate of the United States of America vote Democrat.  Republicans have had enough chances and have proved they have no interest in governing.  Their only concern is making sure they and their rich buddies continue to get richer and richer while caring little that the rest of us just get poorer and poorer.

Could Republicans/Conservatives be Insane?

Yesterday, Speaker of the House John Boehner gave what was suppose to be the Republican "jobs plan".  Boehner regurgitated the same old "trickle down" deregulation garbage Republicans began spouting religiously since Ronald Reagan brought it back from the trash heap of failed Republican policies.  Bush Jr. put this "plan" in overdrive and gave us the worst economy since the Great Depression and lost 22 million jobs in the process.  Furthermore, Boehner spent most of the time deriding President Obama's real plan for putting people back to work and bringing financial relief to middle class families who have suffered the most under Republican "leadership".  When the Speaker finished lambasting the President's plan, all he offered from Republicans were the same failed ideas that almost ruined this country in every way possible.  Deregulation is what caused the financial collapse, yet the GOP still thinks Wall Street if left alone will police itself???  Cutting taxes on the wealthy and large corporations has been tried time and again and has done nothing but make the rich richer while devastating the middle class. Boehner's "plan" has not only created no new jobs but has in effect caused this country to lose millions of them. Come on people, Boehner's "jobs plan" are the same failed policies George W. Bush & co. stole from previous Republican regimes.  In effect, if the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result, then Republicans fit the definition of insane.  It's time Americans stop falling for them and the politicians who espouse them.  Stop the insanity and tell your Congressman to Pass the President's Job Plan.

When Tea Party Republicans are being challenged all over the country by angry constituents willing to pay their fair share in taxes if only corporations and the super rich do the same, it's time someone pays attention. Hey Republicans, the games are over. So who's it going to be: Grover Norquest and the fat cats on Wall Street or the American People?

I turned on my television this evening, as I do every evening in my home in San Antonio, Texas. On Hardball, Chris Matthews was discussing  my Governors Rick Perry's "Christian Prayer" event this weekend in Houston. Governor Perry is asking Texans to come together and "pray" for "God" to solve our problems.  But that's not what caught my eye.  This came next:

Mr. President I don't believe any one's God will solve our problems.  These problems weren't caused by any God, these problems were caused by 8 years WE have allowed (and for some even encouraged),  Republicans to wreck havoc not only on our own country but on our whole world.  These problems are OUR responsibility to solve NOW.  WE cannot wait. WE are angry because WE are scared and WE are desperate. And now we are screaming out to YOU Mr. President,  Stop listening to your "handlers". Stop playing politics with the Republicans. YOU were blessed with a GREAT mind.  YOU have the opportunity to stop a GREAT deal of pain.  And YOU Mr. President will go down in history as a GREAT man.

Video David Krugman. Do The Teabaggers Want to Take the US Back to The Stone Ages?

Paul Krugman hit the nail on the head in this clip provided by PBS's Charlie Rose. Even conservative commentator David Brooks seems to have a hard to time defending the insanity taken over by his own party.

ROSE: There are two questions. One, if you look at the dysfunctionality of government in this case, who's responsible for them?

BROOKS: I don't pretend it's symmetrical... I wouldn't say it's symmetrical here. I do think the president and the Democrats have been much more flexible than the Republicans have been. I say that with a little pain maybe, but that's just simply the case. The president, to his credit has made his allies extremely uncomfortable, and if you were around in Washington yesterday when the entire Senate Democratic caucus erupted in fury, you saw that first hand. And so I think the Republicans are... it's a good short term negotiating strategy, but they are not seizing a deal which should be out there for them.

I'm sort of mystified why if the president is offering a $3 trillion in the reduction of government, why they're not seizing upon that and potentially settling either for nothing or maybe $500 million. I mean, it's just mystifying to me why they don't take this deal.

ROSE: Well, then take a guess. What's the answer?

BROOKS: Well, there are a lot of things. One, they will tell you they go home and nobody wants any more taxes. We ran on that, we pledged it. Second, and I think this part is bipartisan, the hatred is so strong, there is great personal resistance to doing a deal with the devil. And they regard Obama, or Boehner and Cantor as the devil. There's just sort of this emotional resistance to getting in a room, shaking their hand and having your picture taken.

And so even beneath the substance of it there's a great deal of emotional resistance, and when... even when the president makes an offer, which is a pretty good offer for Republicans, they're always looking for the weaknesses in it.

KRUGMAN: This is a longer term story. It's not just what's happened during these negotiations. The underlying reason we have dysfunctional politics right now is the radicalization of the Republican Party. I mean, Bruce Bartlett, a Republican, or maybe now an excommunicated Republican just said basically Obama is a moderate conservative. He's basically governing to the right of Richard Nixon. But what's happened is that the Republican Party has gone so far off into an extreme right wing position that we have gridlock because basically one party cannot say yes.

They cannot say yes to anything that might be coming from the other party. In a basic sense they don't accept the legitimacy of government by the other party.

BROOKS: To be fair to them, they would say that we've had government at a certain level of GDP for decade after decades, and roughly the same, and over the last couple of years its leapt up significantly, so if we want to bring it back to that level, to the 2008 level (crosstalk) that's the argument they would make.

KRUGMAN: David, all of that is the recession. All of that is that the ratio of government to GDP is higher because GDP is down and safety net programs; unemployment insurance and Medicaid and a few other programs that respond to hard times are up. If you take that out, there has been no increase in the size of government. That's an entire myth.

BROOKS: There is a long term trend of health care spending. I mean this is, and Paul and I have come back to this a couple of times in this conversation...

KRUGMAN: Right.

BROOKS: Health care spending is the problem.

KRUGMAN: Yeah.

BROOKS: And so there are two wildly different views of how you address that issue. And Republicans look out and see health care spending increasing, swallowing up everything else and they say we need something like the Ryan plan in order to fundamentally reform the structure of the program. And that's not a radically irresponsible position. It's a position you can disagree with, but it doesn't make them loons, I would say.

KRUGMAN: Well... we can go on. We should also point out that we have an enormous amount of obstructionism at all levels. Right? There's a tremendous number of unfilled positions. To a large extent Obama is trying to govern now with a hollow administration because he can't get officials approved. We had my former MIT colleague, Nobel Laureate Peter Diamond rejected for the Federal Reserve Board.

This is a crazy... uhh... this is what is making America ungovernable. It is the extremism of one party. You actually have an extremely accommodating, I would say alarmingly accommodating Democratic president, but a Republican Party that just won't deal.I am seriously beginning to believe these loony "no nothing" teabagger Republicans are determined to take down this country so they can go live in their underground bunkers, and subsist on the food "The Fox News Show"(in particular Glenn Beck) they have been warned to hoard while they collect overpriced gold coins celebrity spokesmen have urged them to buy as protection from the downfall of the U.S. dollar. Good bye civilization. God help us all.
