Lou Debbs is fitting in nicely with those purveyors of all things anti-Obama at "The Fox News Show".   Today, on "serious" news propagandist anchor Megyan Kelly's America Live show, Dobbs,sat down with Kelly to discuss a recent poll by right wing pollster Rasmussen which showed only 31% of those polled felt the President was doing an excellent job on the economy.  Of course poor Megyan was thrilled shocked that so few Americans felt happy with the President's handling of the economy yet  failed to mention that while the right leaning poll showed 45% of respondents rated President Obama's handling on economic issues as poor, 54% rated it at excellent or fair.  Dobbs, for his part, "wondered what the 31% [who rated it excellent]were thinking" before making the astounding statement that "there is nothing in history that points to successful stimulus spending from the federal government". Wow, Really, Nothing in history? Even if you can't admit The New Deal was successful stimulus, how about World War II, Mr. Dobbs???  Dobbs goes on to repeat the fallacy that the stimulus did not create or save any jobs. In fact, according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, the stimulus package saved or created 1.6 million jobs last fall. And worst, claims the Affordable Care Act "Obamacare" is a 10 trillion dollar exercise that right now the Congressional Budget Office...every non-partisan source acknowledge is a disaster".

Remember what the protesters in Wisconsin were yelling at the Fox crew? "Fox lies". The Affordable Care Act cost under 1 trillion dollars but will save 1.4 trillion in the next 20 years.  These numbers are from the Congressional Budget Office. And how could Dobb's "sources" refer to themselves as non-partisan if they had described the Affordable Care Act as a "disaster" before it had even gone into effect.

"The Fox News Show" can have all the right wing talkers like Lou Dobbs it wants. But Fox can't then claim it is the "fair and balanced" news channel. Fox claims Megyan Kelly is one of their "serious" newscasters yet she continues to misrepresent the truth.  Worse however are the complete lies and distortions that are repeated time and time again on this supposed "news" channel.

Yes Wisconsin.  Fox Lies.

Dangerous Radiation Leak at Japanese Power Plant

According to the Associated Press a new fire has erupted today at reactor no.4 at the nuclear power plant in Fukushima, Japan.  Nuclear power experts are saying this may have caused the roof of the reactor to crack and possibly lead to a dangerous radiation leak. 140,000 residents living within 5 miles of the plant have already been evacuated, however  those within 19 miles of the reactor have been told to stay indoors with doors and window shut and sealed. NBC NEWS: WORSE THAN 3 MILE ISLAND

As fire is now being reported at a fourth reactor at a Nuclear Power Plant in Fukushima, Japan. Officials in Japan are asking residents within a 19 mile radius are being asked to evacuate.  The earthquake that hit Japan on Friday has now been upgraded to a 9.0. and is being blamed for the devastating tsunamia which has left the citizens of Japan with what is now being described by NBC News as worse than the United States nuclear disaster at 3 mile Island in 1979.  For live updates on the nuclear disaster:

Another Explosion at Nuclear Power Plant in Japan

The latest explosion at the nuclear power plant in Fukushima, "may be the most significant yet      according to Nuclear Scientist and the Director of the Nuclear Safety Project at the Union of Concerned Scientists David Lochbaum.  He stated on "The Rachel Maddow" Show earlier tonight, that initial reports may indicate the third rods most inner containment shell, composed of concrete and steel, may have been compromised in the explosion which occurred a few hours ago.  The third explosion certainly seemed much bigger to anyone who has seen it.  Hopefully, we will be getting more answers as events in Japan continue to unfold.

NUCLEAR MELTDOWN IN JAPAN?

The 8.9 earthquake in Japan was the largest in it's earthquake ridden history. The greatest and most far reaching danger may have been done to up to 5 reactors in 2 units at a nuclear power plant in the city of Fukushima, Japan when a backup power supply was damaged by a tsunami caused by the earthquake. Dick Morris Thinks Bill Daley is Chicago Mayor Richard Daley

Maybe someone at Foxpac should have stuffed a foot in Dick Morris's mouth, before he went on air and made a (grander than usual) fool of himself.  While being interviewed by morning host Steve Doocy concerning President Obama's recent pick of Bill Daley as his new Chief of Staff, Morris went on autopilot and began, what he apparently thought would be, his vapid routine criticism of the President's pick.  As the well behaved Foxpac employee his blinding hatred of the Clintons has turned him into, (not that he wasn't always a piece of work), Morris began showing off his stupidity right out of the starting gate.  Before Doocy could get a word out,  he began mumbling, "I think it's a mistake", explaining Daley was used to: "running a city, he's used to executive experience, being a mayor, not legislative experience...".  The thing Morris obviously hadn't been informed:  Bill Daley has never been a mayor, but his brother is Chicago Mayor Richard Daley!  Bill Daley is a former Secretary of Commerce under President Clinton, so you'd think Dicky might have known that. But he's whoring for Rupert Murdoch now, so he's most likely taken some sort of Oath to Ignorance.
Maybe Foxpac should invite, Iowa congressman, Steve King on to explain to it's, specially informed audience, that Dick, "toe sucking", Morris,, like his beloved new Speaker, John Boehner,  just has an over abundance of mendacity.

"God, Sex & The Bible" vs. "The Book of Greek Myths"

 

 Cenk Uyger's interview with, God, Sex, and the Bible, author Michael Coogans should be read by  anyone tired of listening to right-wing, Fundamentalist Christians, who insist on a literal interpretation of the Bible. And everyone else.  As Cenk points out, Coogans facts are overwhelming, against those who, amazingly, still believe mankind should follow this book word for word.. Coogan has interpreted it in it's original language, is  a Professor of Theology at Harvard University and uses scripture in his well reasoned arguments. He explains how the Bible was written over a thousand year time span by many well educated "men" of their time, each having a point of view coinciding with the time period in which they are writing.  For hundreds of years, man has used this book to tell the rest of mankind how to live, picking and choosing what is offensive in his time and in his culture.  For example, Coogan points out that many things, according to the "Good Book" are an abomination. These "sins against God's word" range from adultery, to eating shell fish. Being stoned to death for working on the Sabbath, would probably not fly in the United States today. Sharia law, which stoning is considered, isn't very popular in the opinion of Americans, (even by most Fundamentalists, I believe). Coogan's book should be read, not just by those of us who realize the Bible should be taken as literally as, The Book of Greek Myths.  But most importantly by those who, perhaps, should explore their similarities.

I love this video. Why do so many Conservatives fear science so much; they'd rather just be ignorant? They're afraid of truth, which all boils down to fear of death. Science proves the world is incredible. Enjoy it, and the video.

As Anthony Weiner so perfectly explained about our (at times overly) cerebral, noble and extremely fair party, "Democrats have a tendency to bring library books to a knife fight".  I would never want Democrats to behave like Republicans or, god forbid, those crazy Teabaggers, but there is a time to stand up to bullies. In reality they are nothing but cowards, something we all learned in kindergarten the first time we made one cry with just one push; which is why they only go after the little guy, i.e. the unemployed, the uninsured, kids on free lunch programs, the 9/11 first responders, etc. Even Atticus Finch would have had it with these guys!

If You Miss George W. Bush; You'll Just Love the 112th Congress!

The reason I wanted you to see this old Young Turks video about George W. Bush, is I think on this day it's important to remind ourselves who's policies got us into such a financial mess. Today, a new Republican controlled 112th Congress will be taking charge and doing it's best to take us back to those failed policies. Wasn't taking this country to the brink of complete financial collapse proof enough those policies not only don't work, they're dangerous?  Has John Boehner forgotten how he actually cried on the floor of the House of Representatives begging his Republican colleagues to support a 700 billion dollar bank bailout, and predicting the end of the U.S. economy if the bailout (TARP) wasn't passed. Would Boehner have cried on the floor if Obama had been President at the time? No, sadly, I truly believe Republican greed and ambition surpass even love of country. The fact that the GOP is relying on American ignorance and a short term memory to propose the same trickle down economics proves it.
